You can never have too many good tools. Our popular tester is now on the 4th edition (2023). This Digital Tester accurately replicates the specific signal type and frequency that are utilized by the vehicle’s tachometer and/or speedometer as their respective signal sources.
Power Settings: ON/OFF. Frequency settings: 1Hz-1000Hz. Includes frequency to RPM table. Works with 1-12 cylinder engines. Duty cycle adjustable.
A must have tool for testing and repair of late 1960's and early 1990's tachometers and electronic speedometers.

Fast and simple set-up - takes @ 1 minutes to set up and begin testing.

1. Connect to power source.
2. Connect Power, Ground, and Signal clamps to your tachometer or speedometer circuit board or gauge cluster plug or wire.
3. Turn ON.
4. Select Frequency mode, turn knob to increase or decrease the signal frequency.

This Digital Tester produces:
(1)  12-volts DC current to power the tachometer or speedometer.
(2)  Low-current, 12-volt DC signal with an adjustable frequency. This signal is pulsed and serves the purpose of delivering the RPM or speed data to the tachometer or speedometer.
(3)  Adjustable duty cycle pulsed signal.

Product Note 1: This tester is designed to work with tachometers and speedometers that operate based on a circuit board. However, it does not support tachometers or speedometers that function solely on a coil mechanism, typically found in models from the early 1960s and before. Additionally, it is compatible with numerous electronic tachometers and speedometers that employ a pulsed signal to relay speed data to the gauge.
